Looking after a new tattoo

General example notes for a demo site. A real studio gives its own written aftercare, and that is what to follow.

• Follow your artist’s advice

  Every artist gives their own aftercare instructions at the end of a session. Keep them and follow them; this page is general example content only.

• Leave it alone

  Try not to pick, scratch or peel. Let any flaking come away on its own.

• Keep it covered from strong sun

  While it settles, keep it out of strong sun and avoid long soaks such as baths or swimming, as your artist advises.

• Questions about healing

  If you are unsure how it is healing, contact the studio. For anything that worries you, speak to a pharmacist or your GP.
